Dr Nicholas Pace is a retired consultant anaesthetist who was Clinical Director in Glasgow Scotland. He trained in Glasgow, Cardiff and Dallas. He was previously a Fellow of the Royal College of Anesthetists (FRCA) and Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in the UK. He has a Masters (MPhil) and Doctorate (PhD) in Medical Law and Ethics and an MBA from the Open University. He was co-editor of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine. He sat on a number of national committees (BMJ Ethics and NCEPOD) and was Chair of the Scottish Audit of Surgical Mortality. He was a Leadership Fellow with the Health Foundation. He now spends most of his time in Malta SCUBA diving and wondering why with his knowledge of pulmonary physiology he uses up so much air underwater.
