Dr. Christabel Mizzi

Dr. Christabel Mizzi is a newly appointed Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at Mater Dei Hospital, Malta with a special interest in Intensive Care and Anaesthesia for Hepatobiliary Surgery.

Her professional journey included ENT, Obstetric and Intensive Care attachments at the William Harvey Hospital in Kent, UK. She has also completed an ESICM AKI Fellowship in Ghent, Belgium, and currently serves as an ESICM EDIC examiner. Over the past three years, she has directed the ESICM EDIC Part 1 Preparation Course, helping candidates achieve their certification goals. She is deeply committed to enhancing Intensive Care Education and annually leads the ESICM ICM Fundamentals designed for intensive care newcomers.

Dr. Mizzi has also completed the ESAIC Train the Trainer Course, which has been instrumental in further developing her teaching skills. She was also the National Coordinator for ESAIC ARCTIC (Anaesthesiological Routine Care for Cerebral Thrombectomy: An International Prospective Observational Study). Currently, she is supporting the Mater Dei Hospital MENDSEP (Molecular Endotype Specific Dynamics of Lung Endothelial Barrier Integrity in Sepsis) Project reflecting her ongoing dedication to Clinical Research.
