Anne Marie Camilleri Podesta is a consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at Mater Dei Hospital, Malta. She has a strong focus on medical education, serving as a Foundation Training Programme Director and Educational Supervisor for Malta’s Foundation Programme. Additionally, she leads Research and Audit in Anaesthesia at Mater Dei and teaches as a Visiting Assistant Lecturer at the University of Malta.
She is an Educator for the European Resuscitation Council and actively participates as a Director and Instructor for various life support courses, including the Generic Instructor Course, Advanced Life Support Course, Immediate Life Support Course, and European Paediatric Life Support Courses. Her teaching extends internationally, with invitations to instruct in Sweden, the Czech Republic, Finland, the UK, and Sri Lanka.
Since 2018, Dr. Camilleri Podesta has been part of the Train the Trainer (TTT) ESAIC masterclass faculty and has organized several TTT courses in Malta. She holds significant roles within the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC), including serving on the EDAIC Part 1 Subcommittee, being an EDAIC Part 2 examiner, contributing to the Perioperative Fasting in Adults Guidelines task force, and representing Malta on the National Anaesthesiologists Societies Committee (NASC).
As President of the Association of Anaesthesiologists of Malta (AAM), she contributes to the Specialist Accreditation Committee and the Training Committee and organizes the annual Recognition and Acute Care Treatment (ReACT) course. She has also presented numerous lectures at Euroanaesthesia congresses.
