Super Submissions Oral Presentation Applications
Association of Anaesthesiologists of Malta (AAM) Conference 2025
The AAM is inviting applications from healthcare specialists, trainees, and students for the Super Submissions Oral Presentations session at the AAM’s Conference 2025.
The conference theme is Focus on the High-Risk Patient: Anaesthetic, Intensive Care and Pain Perspectives. The session will be held as below:
- Date: Friday 21st February 2025
- Time: 1730 – 1830 hours
- Venue: Malta Marriott Hotel and Spa, Balluta Bay
- First Prize: €300
The shortlisted submissions will be invited to orally present their work at the Super Submissions Oral Presentations session at the AAM’s Conference 2025 and compete for the available prize in an environment of professional and friendly competition. All Oral Presenters will receive a Certificate of Participation.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Submissions will be accepted from AAM Conference 2025 registered participants only.
- The work submitted must be related to Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and/or Pain Medicine.
- Work where data collection was done prior to 2020 will not be accepted for consideration.
- Submissions of published and unpublished material, as well as of previously presented work, will be accepted. The place of publication and/or presentation must be disclosed at the application stage.
- Participants can make more than one submission, though each individual can only present one presentation if accepted, excluding extraordinary circumstances.
Submissions:
- Abstract of 300 words or less, satisfying the above Eligibility Criteria.
- Should include Title, Introduction, Background, Methodology, Results, Conclusions and Recommendations.
- Should include a list of Authors.
- Should include a single, named Presenter.
- Submissions of work with pending results analysis, expected to be completed by January 2025, will also be considered.
Deadline for Submissions: Monday 2nd December 2024, noon Malta time.
You will be notified by the first week of January 2025 whether your abstract has been accepted.
Judging Criteria:
Points will be awarded by a Judging Panel, based on the following criteria:
- Clinical Relevance
- Content
- Magnitude of work
- Presentation
- Handling of Questions
The Judging Panel’s decision will be final and cannot be appealed.
Prize:
€300 First place; will be given to the Presenting Author only.

Withdrawal Conditions:
A written notice is required for any abstract withdrawal. The request must be sent via contact form here with the presenter’s registered email address.
The withdrawal request should clearly include:
- The abstract submission number and title
- Presenter’s contact information
- Reason(s) for the abstract withdrawal
- Confirmation that all authors agree to the withdrawal of the abstract.
